Never thought breads, pavs and buns cud taste so yummy after toasting.. this toaster is a gem in the kitchen.. trust me great quality.. breads are toasting evenly from all sides and the grill rack and its function is icing on d cake in a toaster.. its amazing.. yes one short side it doesn’t pop up the bread (grill rack version) but since u can actually toast 4 at once in grill rack and hence u dont need the pop up feature i wud say .. this is better than those pop up Toaster .. infact i had Philips pop up version worked for years (the other one in this product list) and this grilling version is infact better..

Poor quality product. Avoid it completely
The product has a big defect as it does not have stand to lift the toast upwards after it is finished. You have to manually lift the steel mesh containing the toasted bread.One of the two toasting slots didn’t work after first week. Many calls to the service center of Phillips did not help.

Browning inconsistent. Would have been a 5 star rating but for the shortcomings mentioned.
Cost me Rs.1699/- as on 17-12-18.I have awarded 3 stars for this Product because :1. It is over priced for it’s overall performance.2. The cord is much to Short (33 inches)3. It was delivered in it’s original Philips packing (very good), but because of the multiple transit points and changing of hands resulted in carton ripping in two places. Due to excellent Philips inner protective packing the unit was safe and unscratched. It would be advisable for Amazon to repack the original Philips packing in an Amazon carton as a precaution/prevention against damage.4. Browning on both sides of a slice is neither uniform or consistent from one slot OR from both slots of the Toaster.II. For general Specifications :1. The length of the cord is 33 inches which comes with a 3 pin 6 amp. Plug.2. The INNER measurement (which comes into contact with the bread slice) of each toast slot is 5 inches in length and 3.1 cm/1.2 inches in breadth.3. As can be seen the Toaster does not have separate Defrost or Reheat buttons but is marked alongside the numerical gradations, which I feel is a sounder technical design being more reliable than offering the additional separate buttons circuit.4. I have noticed that it gets a little stiffer when rotating the knob clockwise and at the Off position there is slight play of the knob (perhaps a Philips design and can’t comment on it being a flaw or otherwise ).5. When selecting any Browning level there is no precise click fit for any number and since there is quite a gap from one number to the other it’s not known whether at any point of this gap BEFORE the next browning number is it constant/consistent to that number or would there be an equivalent increase in browning corresponding to knob set within the gap between each number.6. The mechanical Stop lift mechanism is quite noisy and violent in operation and literally throws out smaller slices. So is the Pop-up sound but is more gentle in it’s pop-up action.III. I have shown snap shots of the toaster’s brownings from settings 1 to 8. (Had to use Stop button on number 8 as it was smoking too much and did not want to damage the unit). Size of the white bread slice used measures 4 x 4 inches. Only the one same slot was used for each slice browning at the various numerical settings. There are two sets of photos, 1A to 8A (which shows the browning done by one side of the single slot) and the second set 1B to 8B (which shows the browning done by the other side of the same slot).Now you can evaluate/compare features/results of this Unit to similar priced Toasters. The fit and finish of the Product is very good and is a well thought of design. Simple without the body of the Toaster getting hot on consecutive repeated usage. And finally, yes, 830 watts is most optimally suited for 2 slice Toasters. I hope this covers most ofthe essential observations impartially.CLIFFORD MICHAEL
